Sharon Raithel, LVT
Sharon Raithel
Licensed Veterinary Technician

I graduated in May 1992 with an Associated Degree in Animal Science. I passed the Veterinary Technician Licensure Exam in June 1992. As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, I have had the opportunity to do an internship in exotics medicine, work in a combined emergency specialty and general practice for 5 1/2 years and then joined a multi-doctor general practice for 8 years before joining the PWEVC in October 2006. I greatly enjoy the challenges and responsibilities that are required in an emergency and critical care hospital. Currently, I am working towards a nursing specialty certification in emergency and critical care.

As a cancer survivor, I feel blessed God has given me a strong love for animals and the talents and ability to give back to medicine. It as an awesome and indescribable feeling to help our patients in need. They cannot
tell us how they feel or thank us, but so much can be understood from their eyes and response to our supportive care.

My husband and son are so supportive of my career and person. We so enjoy sharing our home with our furry and scaly critters. When we are not at home, we are die-hard Redskin fans, history buffs, and enjoy all that Colonial Williamsburg has to offer.
