Veterinary Assistant
Twenty-eight years ago I was practically born in a veterinary clinic. As fate would have it, my father is the owner of a local practice in Gainesville, VA. As a young boy I spent many weekends and summer vacations terrorizing my father's staff and entertaining myself with all the animals in the hospital. As the years went by my enthusiasm for 'helping' dad on the weekends never went away. Inevitably I became an employee and worked part time through out high school.
In an attempt to try something different I joined the army after graduation and pursued the human side of medicine. I was trained by the army medical corps in San Antonio, TX to be a combat medical specialist. I obtained my EMT Basic rating upon completion of the program. After eight years of service for the VA National Guard and many deployments after 9-11, I elected not to extend my contract with the military.
I continued to work full time for my father in between my freshman year of college and deployments my last 4 years of service. As of this moment I have yet to decide what I want to do when I grow up.
I have many hobbies and interests, some of which include snowboarding, kayaking, mountain biking, and scuba diving. But my favorite thing to do is spoil my 15 month old daughter Madison. I have 3 cats, all with special needs, which were rescued through my dad's clinic.
